Hartzell Propeller to host the RAF at AirVenture 2018

Bring a friend and join Team RAF again this year on the Hartzell rooftop for EAA AirVenture 2018 in Oshkosh.

We’ll be serving up coffee and not-so-ordinary donuts on Thursday, July 26 from 8:30-11 am. This is the ideal place to view AirVenture activity, and the beautifully restored B-17G Flying Fortress “Aluminum Overcast” will be flying sorties during this time.

Mexican Mountain remains in good shape

Mexican Mountain airstrip in southern Utah is considered by some to be the “best backcountry strip in Utah.” It lies within a Wilderness Study Area, and remains open as a “casual use” airstrip. It’s only accessible by air or on foot. Federal WSA lands are managed to retain their “primeval character and influence, without permanent improvements or human habitation.”

Ryan Field Work Party Scheduled

In the past, a dozen volunteers have turned out to prepare Ryan Field (2MT1) for another summer of safe and scenic operations. This year, the Ryan Field Work Party is scheduled Saturday, June 9 to separate it from the June 15-16 AOPA Fly-in in Missoula with Seeley Lake fly-out, and we look forward to another successful, fun turnout!

Get out west at RAF's annual Ryan Fly-In

Thanks to the response last year, the 2018 RAF Fly-In at Ryan Field (2MT1) June 22-24 will again feature an “Out West” theme. We’ve contracted with the popular Swan Mountain Outfitters (SMO) to provide both Friday and Saturday evening dinners for reasonable cost.

RAF at Sun ‘n Fun International Fly-in and Expo!

Aviation enthusiasts from around the world gathered April 10-15 for the 44th annual aircraft extravaganza. Although inclement weather impacted the first and last days of Sun ‘n Fun, the majority of the week was spectacularly clear for visiting exhibits, attending forums, watching airshows and examining static aircraft.

Georgia’s Creighton Island Fly-In Series Begins!

Join the RAF for a series of Fly-ins at Creighton Island airfield in Georgia. Come enjoy one of the special recreational airfields the RAF has helped preserve. Most of the island is undeveloped and remains much as it was in the Civil War era. Fly-ins will be the fourth weekend of every month, beginning April 27-29, and ending September 28-30.
