McCarthy, Alaska Fly-In Slated for July 13 & 14


You are invited to a 2nd annual gathering of RAF, EAA42 and IFFR friends in McCarthy, Alaska.
Join us for overnight camping and potluck picnics on the evenings of July 13 and 14 at Alaska Liaison Al Clayton’s "Fireweed" strip (0AK8). Bring your tents, camping equipment, and food to share. Amenities at Fireweed include: a fire pit, BBQ grills, cooking equipment, propane burners, picnic tables, hot and cold running water, and an outhouse.
On July 14, from 9 am to 4 pm, a work party will be held at Peavine Strip on national park land, 15 miles east of Fireweed on a gravel bar of the Chitistone River. We will shuttle with suitable aircraft only from Fireweed for a day trip and brushing/surface maintenance at Peavine, which is elevation 2000', 1625’ x 25’ foot poor gravel (no trikes). Bring work clothes and limb nippers.
